About me

I was first introduced to graphic design from my two best friends in high school. They convinced me to join the Academy of Creative Technologies (ACT) in my sophomore year, which taught us Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, DreamWeaver, and Flash. That's where I first fell in love with the idea of design as a profession.

From there I went on to earn my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Woodbury University and I have been working professionally ever since in branding, marketing, and web design, then evolved to specialize in product design. My background in graphic design gave me a solid foundation for user interface design and deep user empathy. The rest of my product design skills were self-taught and refined over years of hands-on experience. I've established myself as a well-rounded design generalist and systems thinker who creates high-quality visual design at a startup pace.

I now live in Newport Beach, California with my wife, dog, and cat. After 15 years of professional design work, I have experience on my own as a freelancer, as an overworked designer in an agency, and as a member of an in-house design team at both startups and established public companies. I've developed a wide range of multi-disciplinary skills across diverse industries. My unwavering passion for problem solving, collaboration, high craft, and curiosity have enabled me to leave a lasting impact on my teammates, coworkers, and the products I've worked on.
